In a recent interview, Infinity Ward’s narrative director Taylor Kurosaki revealed how the studio plans to keep evolving the story from the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare campaign into the Battle Royale mode Warzone. For example, when season two finally arrived and reintroduced Modern Warfare 2 protagonist Ghost, the cinematic showed him investigating the events transpiring in Verdansk and eventually requesting backup from Captain Price....

The downtime falls alongside the launch of Modern Warfare Season 6, though it’s unclear if the launch is directly responsible for the network outage, or if some other issue is causing the problem. As of this writing, the issue doesn’t appear to be affecting users on other platforms. The official Call of Duty Warzone Twitter account has not yet addressed the issue, but the Activision Support account claims that it’s currently being investigated....

According to the leaks, it seems as though there will be three tiers for Call of Duty: Warzone helmets. The first tier will reduce headshot damage by 15%, whereas the second tier will reduce headshot damage by 30%. The third tier, meanwhile, will reduce headshot damage by 30% as well as reduce flash and concussion effects. Needless to say, these helmets would potentially give Call of Duty: Warzone players a huge advantage that they didn’t have previously, and would potentially shake-up the current meta....

In Season 3, Call of Duty: Warzone players were able to fully explore Bunker 11 and discover the construction of a nuclear missile, including a nuclear warhead. Dataminer AlfaTheseus has found a model for the RC-XD car from Black Ops, as well as a U-2 plane that resembles Black Ops’ Spy Plane. The bunkers and the Call of Duty: Warzone community have a strange relationship. After they were originally only unlocked through complex codes or keycards, the developers eventually opened every bunker on the map. On the flip side, those being hunted as a bounty target would get rewarded if they managed to survive for a certain amount of time....

Reports have started to flood in from Call of Duty: Warzone players regarding an issue with the buy station. Even though they’re holding the required $4,500, the station would not let players buy back teammates who had been eliminated. With the undeniable success of Modern Warfare, it would make a ton of sense for Activision to reboot its other gigantic Call of Duty subfranchise: Black Ops. The listing is for something called The Red Door, which is presumably a codename for Call of Duty 2020 to throw people off. It claims that the Call of Duty 2020 file size is a whopping 81.65 GB, and that it will be rated M for intense violence, blood, and language. Call of Duty 2021 lacking Zombies is not impossible, as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 skipped out on the co-op survival mode. At the same time, it is hard to deny the mode’s popularity, as several attempts have been made in the past to replicate Treyarch’s success. Some will remember Shipment as the map with all of the shipping containers from Modern Warfare. It was relatively small, tight quarters, which worked well for the fast pace of Infinity Ward’s revolutionary multiplayer. For Call of Duty: WW2, it will be interesting to see how Shipment 1944 gels with the current meta. Based on the launch trailer for the new Call of Duty: WW2 map, it seems like Sledgehammer Games is preserving the spirit of Shipment with the tight quarters and dangerous corners....
