Call of Duty: Warzone’s Yegor Operator is an ally of Nikolai, one of Captain Price’s most reliable teammates. Described as a gangster with an interest in the night life, Yegor’s role as a professional fixer sees him wearing a more casual outfit than some of the other Modern Warfare Operators. Alongside a bulletproof vest, he wears a turtleneck and a blue jacket with a distinct fur collar. However, while his backstory is fairly interesting and his attire is unique, it is his country of origin that explains his recent use.

Call of Duty: Warzone players looking for a way to support Ukraine have done so through the Yegor Operator. This has become a workaround due to the lack of a Ukrainian Calling Card in Call of Duty: Warzone, something that was pointed out by Reddit user stefbeukers. While it remains to be seen if a Calling Card for Ukraine will be added by Activision so that fans can make their support even clearer, this seems like a fine enough solution for the time being.

In the comments of the Reddit post from stefbeukers, many shared their interest in using this skin upon having Yegor’s nationality pointed out to them. Redditors like beans-lol shared their hopes to see lobbies full of the skin, while fans like ThatNeonZebraAgain pointed out that playing as Yegor will allow players to hear some of the character’s memorable quips. While players may normally be attracted to Call of Duty icons like Ghost, Woods, and Samantha Maxis, now seems like the perfect time to mix things up and choose Yegor. With the post getting over 1,000 upvotes, many could be seen supporting Ukraine with the Yegor Operator skin in the near future.

While it is great to see gamers showing support, several companies within the industry have been doing the same. CD Projekt Red recently donated a large sum to Polish Humanitarian Action, which will be spent assisting Ukrainian refugees forced to flee their home. Bungie has also shown monetary support for the victims of the conflict, while several other studios have issued statements calling out Russia and encouraging others in the industry to show support for Ukraine however they can.

With the Ukrainian government calling on PlayStation and Xbox to shut down Russian access, the war could have some major ramifications on the gaming industry. While it remains to be seen if either company will actually do this, gamers are sure to keep finding ways to show some love for Ukraine.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
