While the glitches in Call of Duty: Warzone can be hilarious when watching them happen to someone else, they are distinctly less fun to experience firsthand.

Normally, getting gunned down early on in a Warzone match is not the end of the world, as players have an opportunity to shoot their way out of the Gulag for a second shot at winning. One of the most recent glitches discovered in the game is putting a damper on those plans, however, as one piece of equipment seems to be a bit more powerful than intended in the Gulag. The proximity mine auxiliary weapon has become one of the best lethals to carry since, according to some Reddit users, it is sticking around a bit too long after the person who set it leaves the Gulag, resulting in the mine killing new players who have just spawned.

It is likely that this is less of a glitch and more of an oversight on the lifetime of the proximity mines relative to the lifespan of the player who dropped them. After all, several similar weapons in other COD titles linger after death specifically to set up revenge kills. In previous titles, however, such unexpected deaths do not rob players of their one chance to continue a match. Players can only hope that Activision will do enough to curb this kind of cheap death so players do not have to worry about exploding as soon as they enter Warzone’s Gulag.

As obnoxious as this sort of death is when actually experiencing it, it is impossible to deny that there is a definite comedic angle as well for anyone spectating. Several Warzone glitches have been simultaneously game-ruining and funny, which has hopefully taken the edge off an undeserved loss for the players who experienced them. Besides the mines, other highlights include the aforementioned sky-launch, and having a gun spontaneously become a dog.

Still, no amount of laughts can make up for consistent problems, so here’s hoping that Activision fixes the hacking and glitches that still plague Warzone. Should they need help, there are plenty of players and even hackers ready to give suggestions on how to do it.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
