Infinity Ward has experimented with the new system of Bonus Perks for Modern Warfare 2, in which players will have an extra perk that activates slowly over time. As of release, there are six Bonus Perks. These Perks activate if the player is gaining points, thus granting them a reward for aggressive and good play, as they will harness an advantage over others for the rest of the match.

6 Resupply

Grenades are pretty explosive, with the capability of causing great damage and death to opponents. There’s a powerful blast with them, and Modern Warfare 2 features plenty of lethal equipment to choose from. With Resupply, players will spawn with additional lethal equipment, with a recharge every 25 seconds.

With Resupply unlocked at level 31, players will be throwing explosives like they are fireworks. However, lethal and non-lethals aren’t the best, as they certainly can’t stop someone who is shooting the player constantly. Guns beat grenades, and two grenades won’t fix that. Even if they can be thrown randomly for a chance at a kill, or through a window to get pesky campers.

5 Hardline

For the Killstreak fanatics out there, Hardline is a great choice. It reduces scorestreak costs by 125 points and reduces killstreak costs by 1 elimination. This could mean the difference between obtaining the kill streak of the player’s ultimate desire and losing it for good. Everyone who has played Call of Duty knows how frustrating it is to lose a kill streak with just a single kill away from the finish line.

Killstreaks always can turn the tide of warfare, and with a perk that automatically unlocks at level 1, there will be plenty of death from the skies. A UAV may help the entire team in locating enemies, nothing will be as powerful as a grand attack helicopter that wipes out anyone that dares to leave a building.

4 Focus

Recoil can be a detriment to many players, and halt their accuracy. However, the only thing worse than recoil is getting relentlessly shot, causing the player’s camera to flinch in response. This flinching makes aiming harder, and makes death inevitable. However, Focus can be unlocked at level 50, and players may have an easier time fighting flinch.

Thanks to Focus, players will have a reduced amount of flinch when they are getting shot. This means that whilst aiming down sights, they can track their shooter better. Snipers, also have extended breath and can hold their aim longer without swaying.

3 Spotter

Spotter is a classic Call of Duty perk with a twist. With Spotter, players can see enemy equipment, field upgrades, and killstreaks across the map and through walls. They are highlighted, which makes them all the easier to see, meaning that players won’t just stumble in front of a claymore and find themselves dead without their legs, although they might since this Bonus Park is unlocked at level 41.

Not only can players expose their enemy’s equipment to their teammates, but they can also hack equipment, such as Claymores, Proximity Mines, C4, and Trophy Systems. Turning the tide of lethal and non-lethal equipment is a great advantage, especially since nothing on the ground will be able to catch players off-guard.

2 Cold-Blooded

Another classic Call of Duty perk returns with Cold-Blooded, a Bonus Perk that unlocks at level 28. With this perk, players will be undetectable by AI targeting systems, as well as thermal optics. This can render some killstreaks useless. Players can just carry on in the game as if there isn’t a deadly helicopter or turret that is gunning down teammates that do not have Cold-Blooded.

Cold-Blooded also does not trigger High Alert warnings. It does not highlight the player in enemy Tactical Cameras, Recon Drones, or Spotter Scopes. This is a great asset for players that want to remain silent and deadly, and have no desire to be spotted on their sprints across the map to take out their opponents.

1 Fast Hands

A staple of Call of Duty is reloading weapons fast. With Fast Hands, players will have the utmost speed and accuracy when it comes to throwing equipment, reloading weapons, and switching weapons. This is close to an essential Bonus Perk. With the high-speed and adrenaline-fuelled battles of Call of Duty, switching weapons and reloading fast are vital for a new fight ahead. All that can be acquired at level 8.

Speed is essential to Call of Duty unless players prefer the safety of hiding behind walls and sitting in corners. Therefore, Fast Hands is a reliable Bonus Park. It makes sure that players will not be stuck reloading their weapon a bullet at a time whilst an army rushes towards them to make them respawn in death.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
