The Activision Games Blog post describes Call of Duty: Mobile’s Highrise as a “mid-sized” map with two office buildings that serve as spawn points and close-quarters combat opportunities on either side and a multi-tiered construction site and helipad that create high risk, high reward combat situations. As long-time fans of the series know, there are a lot of small ledges and high vantage points called “trick spots” throughout that benefit snipers and situationally-aware players.

Highrise is also described as being a map that naturally favors some “Scorestreaks,” particularly ones like molotov cocktails that take advantage of tight spaces while avoiding air-to-ground attacks due to the variety of covers. The blog post also points out how different objective modes will radically change how Highrise is approached, with Domination and Search & Destroy in particular utilizing different paths.

Highrise is not the first fan-favorite map added into the game, as previous seasons of content have been highlighted by additions such as Rust, another Modern Warfare 2 map that also made a big splash when it was added into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019). The already huge popularity of the franchise, coupled with this kind of fan service in updates, has led to Call of Duty: Mobile being downloaded over 250 million times.

That overshadows other mobile versions of games like PUBG and Fortnite, and it doesn’t seem like it’s going to slow down anytime soon. Call of Duty: Mobile is preparing to launch Season 8, which leaks have suggested will be called “Apocalypse Day” and feature the debut of major villain Vladimir Makarov.

The two mainline Call of Duty titles, Modern Warfare and Warzone, are also seeing constant updates. Infinity Ward just released the mid-Season 4 update with content primarily for the battle royale, but those players who prefer to stick to mobile can look forward to trying Highrise, where “the possibilities just keep expanding as you become more and more familiar with this intricate map,” according to Activision.
