After downloading The Red Door alpha for Call of Duty 2020, fans noticed that the Xbox One title for the game lists it as Call of Duty: Black Ops CIA. Previously, the game was rumored to be called Call of Duty: Vietnam, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and simply Call of Duty: Black Ops. It’s possible that Call of Duty: Black Ops CIA is the final name for the game, but it’s also possible that it’s just a placeholder and it will end up being called something completely different come launch.

When trying to actually boot up the Call of Duty: Black Ops CIA game, however, players are only able to get to the game’s start-up screen. The Black Ops start-up screen only shows the title Call of Duty: Black Ops without the “CIA” bit at the end, which has added to the confusion.

Hopefully Activision decides to announce Call of Duty 2020 sooner rather than later so fans can get some clarification. Right now, there are two prevailing theories as to when a Call of Duty 2020 reveal will take place, so fans of the franchise will want to pay close attention to some upcoming dates.

One theory is that the Call of Duty 2020 reveal will happen during the Xbox Series X games showcase set to take place on Thursday, July 23. It’s then when Microsoft plans on showcasing games for its next-generation Xbox console, and some think this leak is an indication that the reveal will happen at the show. However, it’s important to note that a similar Call of Duty 2020 leak happened on the PlayStation Store first, so it’s more likely that this is just a coincidence.

The other theory, which is backed up by numerous Call of Duty insiders, is that the Call of Duty 2020 reveal will take place within the Call of Duty: Warzone battle royale. How exactly this will happen remains to be seen, but Warzone Season 5 is set to kick off in early August, so perhaps the reveal will take place in just a matter of weeks.

Call of Duty: Black Ops CIA is rumored to be in development for unspecified platforms.
